Imagine a world where profitability takes precedence over human lives. For 15 years, I lived in that world, working on the healthcare underwriting and actuarial side of the business. It was a place where the bottom line overshadowed the value of saving lives. Deep down, I knew there had to be a better way—a way where the focus shifted from mere numbers to the well-being of individuals.
In 2019, I had a life-changing encounter with Dr. Craig Venter. His groundbreaking work demonstrated what I had always believed: that most common chronic diseases could be detected early and entirely eradicated using modern health technology and intervention protocols. This revelation sparked something within me. It became clear that I needed to be part of this transformative change, to use my skills for a purpose far greater than making insurance companies more profitable.
Then, in 2020, a personal crisis struck. My mother nearly lost her life to a heart attack. That was my tipping point. I knew I could no longer stand by and watch a system that only responded to illness after it occurred. I had to act. I left behind a successful career in the health insurance industry to create something new—a company dedicated to shifting from reactive, symptomatic care to proactive, personalized care.
With venture capital funding secured in 2021, we embarked on our mission with Marqi Health. Our goal was clear: to liberate the healthcare system and empower individuals to take control of their health destinies. We envisioned a world where people are educated and equipped to prevent chronic diseases before they start, transforming their healthcare journey from a path of uncertainty to one of empowerment and proactive health management.
